ETEC 523 Ontology study guide.

Reflection

In ETEC 523, I had the opportunity to create different communication assignments that displayed my critical thinking and information literacy. The first artifact is a written assignment that discusses an observation that was conducted to see how students in a college-level course seek information during their review session. The review session showed that students were only using Google to find answers instead of using alternative sources like their textbook, PowerPoint presentation slides, or other online databases. For the second artifact, I created an electronic communication slide to demonstrate knowledge of information theories, Ontology. The slide covers how different databases are available to share information with students when they are researching. The third artifact is a podcast for Digital Citizenship that focuses on Digital Security. The goal is to help users learn about how often theft occurs, what information hacker usually takes, and what users can do to secure their personal information to protect their identity and the information that is on their computer. For this assignment, I decided to use oral communication to target my audience because Digital Security is a concern, and there are steps that everyone can take to protect themselves.
