Reflection

In ETEC 530, I had the opportunity to learn about leadership principles when practicing with educational technology. The first artifact is a group presentation on Bring Your Own Device Models, which explored the five models that are frequently used in an educational setting. The assignment allowed me to collaborate and work together with other group members to gain practice for real-world situations. This assignment allowed me to learn about the challenges, policies, and models to follow for bringing your device into an educational setting. It was insightful to learn about what a leader in educational technology should do to be successful in allowing students to bring their devices into a classroom setting. The second artifact is a one-year professional development plan that incorporates educational technology for a project manager. This professional development includes the purpose, assessment, timeline of meeting the goals, training topics, and support to achieve as a project manager. This assignment gave me the opportunity to review my department’s staff development plan and develop areas for improvement. I applied the leadership principles that I learned in this course to make sure the program could be appropriately executed.
